Tri-City Elementary's 8th Annual Wax Museum!
This project will feature important people in our history that have made contributions to mankind. Each student will be assigned a biography to read. They will be taking notes, writing a report, memorizing a short speech, finding an appropriate costume, gathering props to depict their character, and creating a backdrop to sit behind them. Then they will come to life when their "go" button is pushed! We will be putting in a lot of time here at school, but we need your continued support at home as well! Feel free to help your child research and print information, but the board should be done at school and by the child. We look forward to seeing you at our museum on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 12:30-2:15 in the sports center.

~2017-18 Pumpkin Projects~
Great job everyone!!!!
2016-17 Pumpkin Projects
This idea came from a video we recently watched that shows kindness in action. It's about a young boy that built his own arcade, called Caine's Arcade completely out of cardboard. The kindness of one man helped spread his arcade worldwide. We want to spark creativity andimagination by having our students build their own cardboard arcade games too! The ideas are endless and they can work by themselves or with other students, they can even work on them at home if they'd like. We're going to be giving them time in class acouple days a week. Our goal is that we can play them after springbreak (maybe during our afternoons on PARCC testing?!?) This is agreat way to expand on our reading topic of inventions and science topic about simple machines. If you want to watch the videos that we showed the students, feel free to click the links below. (Each video is about 10 minutes)

Santa's New Suit!
Students will be working at home to design a new suit for Santa... Elvin the elf accidently shrunk his in the dryer, oops! Please work with your child to help them come up with a creative new suit idea and return the Santa (with his fancy new suit) on Tuesday, December 5th. We're working in class on a persuasive letter about our suits in class. Below are the letters that were sent home with students.
~Planet Projects~
Each group of students did some research on a planet. Then then worked together to create a poster, song, flip book or brochure to show off the interesting facts that they learned. Look at all their hard work! :)
