Character Education & Behavior Plans
Each month we will focus on a new character trait. A Good Citizenship
Activity will be held monthly for those students who have displayed
positive behaviors successfully at least 85% of days during the month.
Alternatively, students who do not meet these requirements will receive
small group intervention services focusing on positive behaviors.
We will use a clip chart to monitor our classroom behavior. It is similar
to a stoplight behavior system with added emphasis on positive behaviors.
1. Verbal Warning
2. Loss of 10 minutes of recess time
3. Loss of entire recess
4. Office referral (may include lunch or after school detention, in-school suspension, out of school suspension, etc.)
Our school continues to promote “PAW PRIDE”! Students will receive a
detailed brochure of Tri-City Elementary Behavioral Expectations in all
areas. There are three categories: Respect Ourselves, Respect Others and
Respect Property.
We will be teaching, practicing, and reinforcing these behavioral
expectations explicitly the first few weeks of school in order to ensure
understanding and promote compliance. Please be sure to go over rules and
expectations with your child when you receive this brochure.
We will continuously promote “PAWS”itive behaviors in our classrooms!

Bucket Fillers
While we will work hard to ensure that we are providing students with the
best academic instruction on a daily basis, we will also take time to teach
students to be good citizens who care for and respect each other. We
believe the Bucket Filler Program is a positive way to help keep bullies
out of our classroom and promote positive choices. Bucket Fillers are those
who help without being asked, give praise and compliments, and generally
spread their love and good feelings to others. Bucket filling will become a
common act in our classroom and one that does not go unrecognized!
